Diagnosis

The team at Galway Bay Physio Chartered Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic will be able to diagnose your back pain through a thorough physical examination. Following this examination we will inform you of the steps that are needed to help you recover from your back pain, correct your posture or work practices and advise you on strengthening of your back, all of which should prevent any re-occurence.

Treatment

The majority of back pain resolves in approximately 6 weeks. At Galway Bay Physiotherapy we have a variety of treatment techniques, and you can be guaranteed that we will do everything within our power to ensure you recover fully.

Not only do we endeavour to alleviate your back pain, we also place a large emphasis on the prevention of the pain coming back. It has been shown that 60-84% of people suffer a repeated episode of their back pain. The key to a successful recovery is exercise, interestingly it has been shown that specific exercise prescribed by a Chartered Physiotherapist is more effective that GP management in isolation. Therefore we ensure that you are shown the specific exercises needed in order to prevent the recurrence of your low back pain.
